Project-based evaluation of flat and curved, and where required heated or bullet-resistant, glazing for yachts and vessels.

Visibility and durability requirements

On vessels, glazing is a component that has to be considered together with visibility, weather, vibration and mounting details. In bridge and wheelhouse windows, the risk of fogging and icing can call for concealed heating; vessels that require security may call for a bullet-resistant build. These requirements are evaluated separately for each project.

Application areas

For yachts and ships

  • Ships

    Bridge windows

The need for concealed heating against fog and ice is addressed within the project.

  • Yachts

    Yacht glazing

Flat or curved form, tint and solar control expectations are defined together.

  • Details

    Portholes and door glass

The choice of tempered or laminated build is evaluated by place of use.

  • Security

    Bullet-resistant option

Ballistic requirements for vessels that need security are reviewed separately.
